Rent Our Space

For over 50 years, Piven Theatre Workshop has been an essential part of the artistic community at the Noyes Cultural Center and in the Evanston and Chicago areas. Our mission is to create a safe space for people to grow, learn, and create together.

Our theatre, classroom, and office space are available to rent. These spaces are each available to rent separately or together on an hourly or recurring basis. From rehearsal space and production space to quiet work space, these different spaces are fit to adapt to a variety of needs and purposes. Artistic, spiritual, and therapeutic groups alike have occupied our space.

Theatre Rental

We are one of the few accessible black box theatres at our size. Therefore, our space is uniquely suited to the needs of our community, including the various requirements of spiritual and artistic groups.

Theatre Rental Includes:

Black box theatre

  • 600 square feet of playing space
  • up to 9 chairs for use on stage
  • placement options for curtains
  • 70 seats
  • audience on two sides
  • up to 6 additional chairs available for audience seating

Light

  • basic lighting included- warm wash with front light
  • independent dimmer controlled house lights
  • work lights as needed

Sound

  • 3 speaker, dual amp sound system
  • QLab Pro, run on Mac desktop
  • ¼” or headphone jack available to run off iPod or other portable sound equipment

Projections

  • NEC Digital Projector with VGA, RCA, and USB inputs
  • 9’ x 6’ portable screen
  • Refurbished Mac Mini (~2005) available for projections

Classroom Rental

Two classrooms are available for rentals at an hourly rate (2 hour minimum)

Our classroom space can be used as a greenroom, dance rehearsal space, and general gathering space for artistic or spiritual groups. The space can accommodate a wide variety of activities and has previously supported somatic healing, yoga, and weekend workshops.

This adaptable classroom space is available on an hourly basis or as a recurring rental.

Office Rental

Office space is available to rent. This adjoining space in our office provides renters with ample space to accommodate a variety of artistic pursuits in addition to the space for general administrative tasks or project management.

Previously, this space has been used as a painting studio but is adaptable to the renters requirements and specific goals.
